My experience on the www

I have had my computer since 2000. And since then, I have been studying everything from the Internet. At first, I regarded the Internet as a kind of mystery because I knew nothing about it. When the computer was being connected to the net, I could hardly believe that it will lead me to such a colorful world, as I can never imagine.
At first, I connected my computer with the Internet by dialing the number of the ISP. And it was the way that was also used by others. So I didn’t realize how slow the net speed was. However, now a large amount of users use the broad band to surf. In this way they can chat with others, download large files as well as play net games. Since I don’t have broadband service, I cannot do such things. As a result, I envy them a little.
I am fond of playing games with people rather than the computer, and only by connecting to the Internet can I play with others at home. The web sites, such as http://www.battle.net/, however, require broadband. So I cannot enjoy myself by playing games. Though I am so disappointed, the Internet attracts me a lot. Without games, I can have news to read, have friends to chat with, have smart files to download. The sports news is up-to-date when I go to http://sports.sina.com.cn/ and so on. By connecting my computer to http://www.borussia-dortmund.cn/, I can know everything about my favorite football club—BV Borussia Dortmund. To everyone’s surprise, the site is in Chinese. And its Chinese version was presented earlier than the English one.
With the Internet, I keep in touch with my friends more conveniently. We can send email with each other, and express ourselves on BBS sites. On http://www.chinaren.com/ there is a virtual class 10—my class in senior high school. There is also a discussing area called “beyond the clouds” on http://www.xici.net/ by which we can have our virtual class meeting. During this summer holiday, I used “MSN messenger” a lot to chat with my friends. Without face-to-face connect, we didn’t feel separated.
The resources are also useful. I often use http://www.google.com/ to find what I want. Now I feel that I don’t make full use of the Internet, and I am willing to spend more time on it because I need more information.
Now I am a university student. It is convenient to surf in the school. But I can’t view foreign sites because the school doesn’t let me to. So it is a pity because I can’t view my MSN, my Dortmund, and my Google. Nor can I check my email, as it is on the hotmail.
However, I decide, during the four years, I’ll make full use of the resources of the school site only!
